About TalkinTropics
Since July 2004, the TalkinTropics program, devoted exclusively to hurricanes and their impacts, has aired on Internet Partnership Radio through streaming audio.
Mike Watkins is the host of the program. Mike
attended the university of Oklahoma as a meteorology major, and although he is
not a professional meteorologist, he is an avid tropical weather
enthusiast. He has maintained a weather forecasting website since 1998,
and is currently working with Mark Sudduth and Jesse Bass with hurricanetrack.com.
Each week during the season, the current week's tropical weather is discussed
and expert meteorologists are almost always a part of the broadcast to lend
important analysis and insights. CLICK
HERE for a list of featured guests from the past year.
When on a mission with Hurricanetrack.com, Mike will phone
in to the program from the landfall location, as he did from Pensacola during
Arlene, Ft. Lauderdale and Gulfport during both landfalls from Katrina, and
again from Ft. Lauderdale during hurricane Wilma.
